Making posters is where I "cut my teeth", so to speak, in being able to create/design and support organizations. I have produced show posters, an event poster and banners/posters for a school-wide program.
My friend, Pete, has just retired from teaching after 37 years(!). To celebrate, he threw a big party to celebrate those that have been on the journey with him and for others to celebrate his retirement. At the same time, he wanted a poster to that announced what he would be doing when he retired.
Pete has started a npon-profit called Adapted Play Collective. The poster highlights the basic information of the non-profit, as well as the PlayAbility Camps that are a major part of the ministry and service to underserved parts of the world for disabled children.
This poster brings both to life and allows for for bit more information by providing QR codes to the websites for more information
Two times a year, I create the show posters for Center Stage Kids. Unwittingly, when I started doing these, I have NO IDEA: 1) how much I would enjoy creating them and 2) that they would be received so well. It does help that, well, I am part owner with my wife. I would not have been upset if they just didn't like them, but they allowed me to pursue my creativity and create value for our musical theater school.
This poster is for our Spring 2025 show - Ripples. I actually started with the idea of a hadn dropping something into water and the ripple being creating from that. Although my youngest daughter liked it (she is my creating, co-partner), my wife...did not. So, we nixed the hand, and just went with the ripple.
