A logo can shape and communicate an organizations purpose, personality and mission all in one glance - it is an important and lasting impression in an instant. Although a bit daunting, creating logos is a personal and important endeavor.
The Adapted Play Collective is an non-profit organization that brings adapted play and sports to underserved children throughout the world. Created in 2025, the organization was looking for a professional looking logo.
Part of the inspiration for this logo is the three colors (red, green and blue) that are used by the Special Olympics. I wanted to give the logo some movement without making it overwhelming. I settled on the three parallel curbved lines that anchor the logo. These same colors are used in the "live, move, be" of the focus verse Acts 17:28.
The main outreach of Adapted Play Collective is the PlayAbility Camps. These are 4 day events that bring the equipment and staff of current ministry members to the community where disbled children can use the services of the Adapted Play Collective.
One of the main events of the Camp is using a parachute for play activities. I knew that the parachute had to be a central part of the logo...it wasn't until I realized through my creative prcess that it could serve as half of the globe, representing the reach of Camps, and the central silhouetted figures that form the participants and staff of the Camps.
